Umeshu - Japanese plum wine

We present Umeshu made from seasonal plums and brewed in the brewery contracted with our company. Ume is famous throughout Kyoto's history and Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, the head office of the 12,000 Tenmangu and Tenjinsha shrines throughout Japan, is known for beautiful plum blossoms. There are about 1,500 Ume plum trees of 50 varieties associated with Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning who loved Ume plum trees, and during the flowering season, red and white Ume plum trees bloom all over the shrine grounds.
